ISPRESC Meetings

International Society of Policy Research and Evaluation in School-based Counseling (ISPRESC) will hold two meetings during the ICCP 2023. A Panel discussion and workshop on Developing Policy briefs for policy makers and advocates and, the general  assembly of ISPRESC for members of ISPRESC.

Workshop on Policy briefs

On January 3, 2023, in Bengaluru, India, a meeting of international school-based counseling
policy makers and policy advocates will take place to discuss mental health problems and issues among children and youth within their respective country. This will also be a time to spotlight the role and profession of school-based counseling as a means to address the aforementioned challenges.

The meeting will take place on the main campus of Christ University. Officials from the Ministry
of education India and school boards will participate. The local media will also be present to
promote the event.

If you are a policy maker and or policy advocate, we are inviting you to participate in this important
meeting to help make people aware of the mental health issues children and youth are facing within your country and to discuss the idea of school-based counseling as a policy mechanism to address this situation.

The meeting will be hybrid in format. For those that can travel, lodging on campus and meals
will be provided by Christ University. For those unable to travel, a zoom platform will be used to
include participants at a distance.

The meeting is being sponsored by Christ University and the International Society of Policy
Research and Evaluation in School-based Counseling (ISPRESC). In addition to the panel
discussion on January 3, on January 4 – 6 a workshop on developing policy briefs will be
facilitated. We hope as an outcome that participants will have at least a solid draft of a policy brief that could be used to promote the importance of school-based counseling within the participant’s respective country.

As an added benefit, the ISPRESC policy meetings will coincide with the 5 th International
Conference on Counseling, Psychotherapy and Wellness (iccp2023.com) which will occur
January 4 – 7, 2023. ISPRESC policy makers and or advocates will be able to attend this meeting
free of charge.

Please consider attending these meetings. Your involvement will help to promote the important
role and place of school-based counseling at a time when young people across the world are
experiencing enormous challenges.
